The East End Film Festival and the Andaz London Liverpool Street Hotel are delighted to announce the return of Temple Cinema! Following two back to back sold out series of screenings in the Andaz London’s eerie, hidden Masonic Temple last year, EEFF will be bringing another line up of classic chillers to London’s most atmospheric film venue. including screenings of Don’t Look Now, Pan’s Labyrinth and Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (Francis Ford Copolla, 1992) – Tuesday 23rd February Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather, Apocalypse Now) creates one of the definitive visions of Dracula in his lush and opulent adaptation of Bram Stoker’s 1897 gothic classic. Featuring one of modern cinema’s most iconic performances in Gary Oldman’s blood thirsty Count, extraordinary visuals and an atmosphere of doomed romance, the film also features fantastic turns from Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves, Tom Waits, and Anthony Hopkins, who plays Van Helsing, the vampire slayer who, in the original novel, stays at the Great Eastern Hotel, now the Andaz London Liverpool Street. Who knows if he ever entered the Masonic Temple…

Pan’s Labyrinth (Guillermo Del Toro, 2006) – Tuesday 29th March One of cinema’s greatest gothic fantasies, Pan’s Labyrinth combines a heartbreaking tale of war and human tragedy with one of the most beautifully realised fairy tales in film history. Set against the backdrop of Spain’s fascist regime in 1944, young Ofelia escapes the brutality of her army officer stepfather when she meets the faun Pan. Promised entry into a magical, immortal kingdom if she can complete three dangerous tasks, what follows is one of the most beautiful, haunting films of the past decade.

Don’t Look Now (Nic Roeg, 1973) – Tuesday 26th April Regularly appearing in polls dedicated to the best films of all time, Nicolas Roeg’s adaptation of a Daphne du Maurier story sees a couple (Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie) flee to Venice following the tragic death of their young daughter. Haunted by their grief, a series of strange and unexplained events begin to befall them, in what is a haunting, tense and drippingly atmospheric tale of the supernatural, all eerily leading up to one of the greatest endings in movies.

TBC – Tuesday 31st May

All films priced at £15, which includes a cinema ticket, free popcorn and a complimentary drink! For more information and to book tickets click here. £30 cinema tickets including a two course meal prior to the film screening are also available.
